Top Networking Questions #5

How do you get the most out of a Networking meeting?

If you don't know how to get the most out of networking meetings here's some help.  In this short video Martin Davies of NRG shows you how to prepare yourself for a Networking meeting to get the most out of it:

It's all about preparation.  Here are three things to focus on:

    1. Choose the right Networking meeting.  These are places where you are likely to find the people you are looking for (not necessarily your target market).

    3. Be interested in other people.  Actively look to engage with others and ask them about themselves.  Dale Carnegie said “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

But you have to mean it!

    5. Be able to answer the question what do you do?  This is all about knowing how you add value to your customers.  Have at least one story to amplify the point.  People love stories and remember them.

    Key Learning Points:

    1. Choose where you will meet the right people for you

    3. Engage with people at the meeting - be interested in them

    4. Know what you do - and have a good story!
