The Business Networking Market Place

Networking is as old of the hills. 76% of business done comes from word of mouth! The last 10 years has seen the rise of formalised networking and organisations supporting such networking. The demand for formalised networking is accelerating due to:

  • Corporate downsizing. Professionals leaving are establishing themselves in the business services sector
  • Traditional marketing (cold calling, direct mail) less effective. This is because of information overload through new channels (internet, email, mobile comms)
    • Done well, it is still the most cost effective way of getting business!

    95.7% of the 4.7m enterprises in the UK are small businesses with < 9 employees. 24% of all enterprises are in the business sector (NRG’s target market). This represents a market of 1.08m businesses. Currently the UK wide organisations focussing on business networking have an estimated 25k members. This will grow dramatically over the next five years. NRG plans to expand dramatically in this sector over this period.

    NRG Business Networks has run facilitated business networking events since 2004. Our members grow their business through developing business relationships. They benefit from The NRG Advocacy Model which takes business networking to a new level, promoting long-term relationships rather than quick fix solutions. As a result of their NRG networking. NRG has established itself at the top end of the business networking market. "Great events! great people!" says Phil Parr of branding consultancy Twentyfive. NRG's target market can best be described as Business to Businesss; Suits; VAT; > 1 employee.
