How do I manage my Network?

How do you keep on top of the relationships you have built?  In this short video Dave Clarke of NRG shows you how:

You manage your network in the way that you would manage the biggest asset you have in your business.

You should devote the resources appropriate to managing your network.  You need to invest in some sort of CRM customer relationship management system.  I use a system called Nimble which is an online CRM system and I have all my contacts within that system.  It does some clever things such as asking me who I want to keep in touch with and what frequency.  It gives me reminders when I haven't met somebody.  When I am in a meeting with someone and I agree a follow up then I make sure I put it into the system.

On a daily basis I see the list of things I have got to do and the list of people that need to follow up with.  Obviously some of that will be people that I meet regularly with through work, Networking meetings and other organisations.

Given your network is your biggest asset then put some resources into managing it.

    Key Learning Points:

Your network is your biggest business asset

Manage it and devote resources accordingly

Use a CRM system to interact with your key relationships on a regular and predicatble basis.
