How important is the Follow Up and how do I do it?

 

    Do you struggle to follow up?  In this short video Dave Clarke of NRG shows you the key elements of a good follow up:

     

    The key to building the relationships in Networking is all about the follow up.

     

    The biggest problem is that people go to Networking events and have lots of conversations.  It is afterwards they think how do I follow up?

     

    You have to wind back and think before you go that one of these events that what I am looking to do is find people with whom we may form a relationship in the longer term.

     

    I am looking to find those little things that I can follow up because that helps build trust.  It might be that we meet for the first time, we have a reasonable conversation and a follow up might be that we connect with each other on LinkedIn.

     

    Rather than just send a LinkedIn invitation out of the blue later on if I agree with you that I will send you a LinkedIn invitation later and then I do that's an item of follow up. It's me demonstrating I've done a little thing in line with what I say I am going to do. It's thinking about those things all of the time.

     

    You are looking to have the follow up agreed before you do it because it all helps the relationship building process.
