I help people sell more effectively.

I had been a member of another breakfast networking group for a long time but in 2010 business projects I was committed to meant that I could keep up a weekly commitment so I had to leave.  I was nervous about stepping out of networking altogether as it was important to me.  I knew Fiona Bevan who runs NRG North Somerset.  The NRG membership was more my scene, professional suits with corporate type clients.  It made more sense so I joined.

I get business consistently through NRG.  But that is not the main reason why I attend – it’s a consequence.  I get to build key relationships, somehow the more I get to know about the right sort of people the more things seem to happen!

 

I introduce people I want to get to know more into NRG.  It saves time and energy developing relationships when you know you are going to meet them regularly each month. I find the meetings are very effective in ‘topping up’ existing relationships.

 

One of my key successes coming out of NRG is a collaborative venture with another NRG member, Peter Wordley.  We have developed a ‘Sage in the Cloud’ offering which offers both of us an additional revenue stream. It has also lead to me being invited onto the Sage development panel!
